Fall Nail Trend: Dark Hues

Just as fast as the seasons changed, so did the trends in nail lacquer. The vibrant colors that once epitomized summer have become subdued. Darker hues such as brown, navy, mauve and grey have replaced neon pinks and greens.

“I’ve seen a lot of darker colors like browns, blues and greys, especially on a lighter skin tone,” MU senior Stephanie Gill said. “It gives us a chance to pop.”

However, for those with a darker skin color, gold, orange and green colors stand out best.

MU junior Morgan Thomas recommends a dark red color for fall.

“Revlon has a color called ‘Vixen,’ and it’s really cute,” she said.

Deep, rich colors offer the chance to mimic nature’s mellow style. Fall in step with autumn with these nail polish hues.
